Mom's Glazed BBQ Chicken

Description

Can be used on pork or beef too.

Ingredients

1 whole cut up chicken or equivelent chicken pieces
1/2 C butter
1 med onion chopped
1T chopped garlic
2t salt
1t crushed red pepper
2t paprika
1T chili powder
1/2t black pepper
2C cold water
1+1/4 C apple cider vinegar
1C packed brown sugar
2T Worcestershire sauce
1/4C Molasses
6oz tomato paste

Directions

Fry chicken in pan with small amount of oil until brown(it won't be completely done)

Or you can use a deli chicken cut up

In sauce pan cook until onions tender

1/2 C butter

1 Med onion chopped

1T chopped garlic

2t salt

Then add:

2t paprika

1T chili powder

1/2 t black pepper

Cook and stir for 1 min.

Add:

2C cold water

1+1/4 apple cider vinegar

1C packed brown sugar

2T Worcestershire sauce

Bring just to a boil then turn down to simmer and add:

1/4 C Molasses

Whisk in 6oz tomato paste

Let simmer until it thickens

Spoon over chicken until is is covered. Put a piece of parchment paper on top of chicken so BBQ doesn't touch tin foil

Cover with tin foil

Bake at 350 for 1 hr.

Take off tin foil spoon on a litte BBQ on top of chicken Bake about 15 min.

If using deli chicken just bake until hot.
